A workshop with renowned Blacksmith, Finin Liam Christie.
Working out his own forge in the village of Colgreany in County Wexford, Finin has built up an outstanding reputation amongst his peers and past students.
He is currently offering three workshop experiences, giving you the opportunity to try out a new skill and learn from one of Irelands best known and highly rated Blacksmiths.
One Day Workshop: On a one-day workshop with Finin you will learn the basics of forging, using the anvil you can make any small item that your imagination can come up with from an ashtray to an axe head!
Two Day Workshop: With a little more time to spare you can ramp up your imagination to include a poker set for the fireplace, an epic Sword, a BBQ Tool Set, it's up to you!
Three Day Workshop: If you want to make something really epic, a piece for your house or garden... or a Throne of Swords! If you are seriously considering a career as a blacksmith or if you are fulfilling a lifelong dream then this is for you. Finin will guide you through every stage, making sure your piece lasts forever!
Colgreany is only an hours drive from Dublin, and it is a very scenic road travelling through the Garden of Ireland, County Wicklow. Most of the route is via the M11 Motorway, only turning off into country roads once you reach Arklow.
There are a number of trains and buses from Dublin which will leave you in the nearby towns of Gorey or Arklow where you can be collected
In fact Coolgreany is so accessible that even doing a three-day workshop you can, within reason, very easily commute from any location in Wexford, Wicklow or South Dublin.
Travelling home with your new work of art will be just as simple, Its straight back out on the road home or we will return you to the bus stop/train station
Should you be visiting Ireland from abroad, we can arrange to have your new "piece" shipped to your home address so that you can continue to enjoy your holiday without worrying about going over your baggage allowance!
